Emma and Jordans Wedding

Photos: Paul Sulovski and Fi Fy Fo Fum Designs

Theme: Small and intimate. We only had 35 people at our late afternoon wedding, just immediate family and our closest friends. On our day we wanted to be able to enjoy as much time as possible with the most important people in our lives.
Colours:  Red and Tan. Oh, and of course an ivory wedding dress!
Venue: Riva, St Kilda Marina for both the ceremony and the reception. It was a wonderful venue, with a small beachfront on one side where we had our ceremony, then upstairs to a private dining room for drinks then the reception. As our reception was on the westside of the building we had a wonderful sunset to set the evening off.
Photography: Paul Sulovski really listened to what we wanted from our photos and the style we were after. Like all good photographers, we hardly even noticed he was there and he came up with a wonderful set of natural and relaxed photos.
Flowers: Organised by Em, she went to a flower shop recommended by a friend. They did a fantastic bouquet of red orchids, lapel pin for Jordan and lapel corsage for mothers and grandmothers at a great price.
Invitations: Fi Fy Fo Fum Designs Custom Design. Fi took our random ideas and generated a fanastic design straight off the bat which carried across all the stationery we used for the wedding....Invitations, RSVP cards and place cards.  The design brief was something simple yet elegant.
Celebrant:  Jeannette Burke, a civil celebrant that Em knew through her work. She created a relaxed atmosphere and a wonderful service.
Cake: Organised by Jordan's mum from a person local to her in West Gippsland. We had a chocolate cake with white icing, topped with decorative white and red roses. For all the guests we had small take home cakes, shaped as hearts with an E&J on them.
Top tip: Having the wedding and reception together does make it an easier day to manage for yourselves and your guests. Also, as hard as it may be, try and stay true to what you as the couple want in the wedding and the reception, even in the face of what mothers, mother-in-laws and those distant relatives who want to come might otherwise want.

Victoria & Jason's Wedding

Photos: Em Photography and Fi Fy Fo Fum Designs

Wedding: Victoria & Jason
Theme: Contemporary elegance, East meets West.
We were married in a beautiful old stone church to reflect our time in the UK and the invitations were stylised chrysanthemums to represent our time spent in Japan.
The red roses were in honour of my mum.
Colours: Red, Black and Silver
Venue: Eve's on the River, Brisbane QLD
Located on the Brisbane River the venue was relaxed and stylish providing a great setting for our cocktail reception at dusk.
Photography: Em Photography
Our friend Emma did a lovely job of our photos creating a mix of candid and natural shots with some lovely portraits too.
Flowers: Wedding Stems
The red roses looked fantastic against the bridesmaid's black satin cocktail dresses. The rose in my hair was suggested by my hairdresser Nadine from Rokstar who did our hair on the day.
Invitations: Fi Fy Fo Fum - Custom design
Fi did a fantastic job with our invitations. The entire process took place over email as we were living in the UK at the time and planning our wedding by distance. Fi understood our ideas and created a beautiful design that we used for our wedding stationery. Despite the distance it was a seamless process.
Celebrant: Father Gary Fagg, All Saints Wickham Tce, Brisbane, QLD
A beautiful old stone church located centrally in Brisbane
Cake: Cakes by Judy C
Judy did a fantastic job with our wedding cupcakes. We had a flourless rich chocolate cake smothered in vanilla butter cream and topped with little red hand-piped flowers to match the design that Fi created for out invitations.
Top tip: During your wedding day make sure you stop and take time out with your new husband/wife to reflect on your special day.

To get the ball rolling I thought I would start with my wedding...enjoy!

Wedding: Fi & James
Theme: Modern Elegance
Colours: Raspberry and Candy
Great location right in the heart of the city.  We chose it for the wonderful classic architecture as well as the convenience for our interstate and international guests.
We hardly knew Lisa was there...she just blended into the background.  This meant she was able to capture some beautiful candid moments of us and our guests.
Flowers: Mimosa florist and lifestyle for the bouquets and family members for the reception flowers. We bought the roses from a wholesale nursery and this really helped keep the costs down. I wanted freesias in my bouquet and Lilli at Mimosa created a stunning bouquet combining these and the roses.
Invitations: Fi Fy Fo Fum Designs - Custom Design
We really wanted a design that was creative however it still needed to keep the formal aspect.  The invitation design carried through to the order of service, table numbers, menus, place cards and seating chart.
Celebrant: Jason McCheyne
Jason created a wonderful service for us that really reflected our personalities.  It was relaxed, free flowing but still maintained the importance that this occasion represented.
Cake: The cake was made by my sister in law and my mum and I made the flowers to decorate it.
Top tip: A friend told us to take some time and stand back and watch everyone enjoying the reception. This was a great piece of advice and it is one of the best memories that we have. Having everything in the one place was also easy as it meant that we did not have to move venues and the celebration could continue without a big break.
